News is surfacing that Virginia may indeed show a budget surplus when the current fiscal year ends. It all depends on June revenue collections.

McDonnell the kind of Republican we need – not afraid to prioritize spending and make deep cuts where (and when) they’re needed. Business Week writes that as recently as March, McDonnell was working on some pretty serious cuts to make up for the lack of incoming revenues.

We’ll hope for the best – but with solid conservative Republicans in key leadership positions, it’s definitely reassuring…
